Updating on Mac????

I'm sort of tech savy but not on y'alls level by any means. I was able to run 3.5.0 but I cannot for the life of me update to the newer versions. Could some kind soul please tell me step by step (pretend I know nothing about coding / terminal which isn't that far off haha) how in the world to upgrade. Many thanks!
