there's a section in CONTRIBUTING that discusses how to categorize a resource. Sometimes it's difficult!

💡 What about split in books-*.md files:

  • ebooks: real books / papers / official lecturer-teacher material used in colleges... usually have covers, ISBN, etc.; diferent downloadable sources. Also, most of the times domains like gitbook, leanpub, readthedocs...
  • tutorials / guides: long article about topic fitting some our categories; normally as a web article, accepted blog post...

splitting the file will not make it easier to find resources. If we feel it's important to distinguish between types, we can add a content type annotation the way we do in our podcast/screencast lists,

I like it... maybe with some emoji as badge to be able to distinguish by parsers across languages

  • Real books: :book: 📖
  • Videos: :video_camera: 📹
  • Tutorial, guides...: :memo: 📝, :page_facing_up: 📄, :page_with_curl: 📃

I worry that in practice it will add a barrier for contributors
