Custom Colors on CalendarAppointments are breaking the "selected" behaviour

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Override the colour field of the calendar appointments (Not the Type but give a custom colour like #abcdef)
2. Observe that the colour is changed
3. Select an appointment with predefined colour

What is the expected result?

Selected appointment is marked with white background as every other

What happens instead?

Colour upon selection is not changed. Only colour of the text

Any other information? (attach screenshot if possible)

On the image below you can see how Lunch is with changed color and, when selected, the background is not changed. Also the Team Meeting is selected while with no predefined color.
