Embeded image does not show up when import to SVG Edit

I have an SVG with an embedded image like so:

However, when I import the SVG to SVG Edit, it does not render on screen.
Like so:

But in my file explorer, I can see the image:

Please help. Thank you.

After some trial-and-errors, I found out that the image will be rendered if I put "xlink:" before the href. However, according to this link: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/xlink:href, it seems that xlink:href is deprecated?
