[BUG] Plugin installation hangs

Bug Report Description

When trying to install decky-dictation from the testing store, the installation modal hangs.

1. Navigate to the decky testing store
2. Install decky-dictation 1.1.0-d02d3d4
3. Observe the installation hanging

More information regarding this behavior has been provided here and in the logs below.

Some key takeaways:

• The remote binary is actually present, despite the logs stating it's failure to download
• Upon a system restart, the plugin shows up correctly, but the permissions don't allow the zip extraction of the remote binary
• Trying to install/reinstall the plugin multiple times (without a restart) seems to actually succeed, despite the installation modal hanging (confirmed by other users as well)

Uninstall the plugin first. Then install it back and let the installation run for like 30 sec. Then head into decky settings -> plugins and hit reinstall for the plugin and wait for 30 sec again. Repeat this a couple times and the plugin should eventually install and initialize itself correctly.

I’ve tried this but I can’t even get a plugin to install it hands on installing

Not sure when i'll be able to find time to properly mess around in the code and see what happens, so just writing down my thoughts on the code here as I go, for future me (hopefully not too far in the future :p).

1. isssue is most likely in the _download_remote_binaries_for_plugin_with_name function (called in the main plugin _install function) or download_remote_binary_to_path.
2. That first access check should probably be a guard statement, with an error log if it fails and that might help find the exact cause of the problem
3. chmod is recursive by default, so that should be fine, although i'm not sure if making it 777 is really the right thing to do
4. chmod might take some time, so checking if it's writable right after might fail? not sure if os.chmod is blocking up to the action being complete or not
5. the bin file isn't created and chmodded before it's written to <- i think this might be it
