Mistake in docstring of binary search?

In the docstring of bisect_left() function in binary_search.py link here, it says the returned result of this function is "index i such that all values in sorted_collection[lo:i] are < item and all values in sorted_collection[i:hi] are >= item."

However, in the following example bisect_left([0, 5, 7, 10, 15], 15, 1, 3) within the same docstring, item = 5, lo = 1, hi = 3 and the returned result i = 3. Therefore sorted_collection[i:hi] = sorted_collection[3:3] = 10, and 10 < 15, not 10 >= 15, which is contradictory to the description above.

Is this a documentary mistake? If yes, is it because that the author didn't consider the optional parameters lo and hi?

sorted_collection[3:3] is the empty list [], not [10], so the doctest is actually correct.

Actually closing a discussion like an issue should only be used if the discussion was not answered as far as I am aware
