Can't get past "Press the B or Y button on your controller to begin"

May be this is a really dumb question, and it is not meant to work without a controller, but I was hoping that Apple's hand/eye gestures somehow map to a controller. Could you please clarify?

It seems that this wiki is outdated and cannot be used for any operations using hand tracking after connection
