previously checking out the angular docs allowed to pass a search term via query parameters like this:

https://angular.io/?search=foo

This for example is pretty neat when trying to search for something in the angular docs and it allows for exmaple to configure custom browser search-targets es shown below e.g. for google chrome by replacing the "%q" with the actual search query.
