I would be happy if Cake Wallet would support the compact qr protocol for importing wallets.
One example:
Why should Cake Wallet do this?
The compact QR code protocol is new. It allows you to store a seed with a very small QR code. Cake Wallet already supports conventional QR codes for import.
I think it would be easy for CAKE Wallet to support the new compact QR protocol as well. No changes in the frontend are necessary. When the user tries to scan a QR code, the software can be customized to support both traditional QR codes and new compact QR codes. The user interface does not change for the user, the complexity of the application is not increased, but the user-friendliness is increased because an additional protocol is supported fully automatically by the software without the user having to actively take care of it.
Which products already support compact Seed?
SeedSigner
Sparrow
Jade
DFX will also add it to the BTC Taro wallet in the next update.
Seedhammer makes it possible to hammer 12 and 24 words of seed onto a 3mm steel plate. Which is a very cool kind of back-up. Seedhammer not only engraves the 12 words but also a matching QR code. Users can import the wallet with just a few clicks by scanning the QR code. It would be great if it were possible to import a Seedhammer BackUp to Cake Wallet as well.
