If I edit an image that is linked in a document, the image does not update. I don't expect Caret to do polling, but if I retype the link, Caret still uses a cached version.

This issue is fixed in our new product. You can request early access from here. In Nota the image will automatically update. Hope that helps.

Ah, OK, happy it was already on your radar.
What will happen to Caret after Nota is launched?

@xaviervalarino I can't speak for the Caret team but I've recently switched to Nota and am a very happy user there – they kept all the awesome editor features, fixed a couple of bugs (e.g., lists), spell checking works much better etc. It's a richer / more ambitious app but I'm happy to report that Nota is still a great editor. I still have Caret on my computer but didn't need to open it for months.

@xaviervalarino Caret will still be available for download but we won't be developing it further. As @borekb said Nota is very similar to Caret so it shouldn't be a hard transition between the two.
