Bold plus italics simultaneously

Thanks for your project, it's really helpful. One minor issue, though, is that there is currently no easy way to enable bold and italics at the same time. If I type *** these characters just disappear, same with **_ or ___. Trying to add italics to a bold text gets rid of italics, and vice-versa. Pasting a code that uses *** will use only italics, not bold. Can you take a look?
