"This device only supports 1 light level. Dim feature deactivated."

This message is shown when your device does not support dimming your flashlight. You can still use basic flashlight features of the app, but all dim features are hidden.
I can not do anything about this as the limitation is hardware related.

Please let me know in the comments if your device is not supported.
Therefore please include your device info from inside of FlashDim in your comment.
That would help a lot ❤️

Hello if it is helpful I would like to report that one of my devices, the RMX3363 (Realme GT Master Edition), is unfortunately not supported.

Also, congratulations on a beautiful application!

On Android the A52s 5g could change between 5 lightlevels but now that i changed to linigaeOS I get this message. Is this fixable? I couldn't find solutions or simmilar problems on the internet.

@afffe18 Unfortunately (most) custom OSs do not seem to support flashlight dimming feature.
I can not do anything except telling the OS to dim the flashlight.

Maybe consider contacting the developers of Lineage OS.

FlashDim is a great app and has lots of useful features but unfortunately redmi note 10 pro (sweet) is showing supports 1 light level but in cit I have dimmed the led flash ( so there is no hardware limitation ).
To access cit dial ##6484##

If the app shows that it doesn't support brightness levels that means that your phone manufacturer didn't build the brightness control into their Android SDK I can access as a developer.
Unfortunately I can not do anything about this.

PS: The cit also seems to be a manufacturer-specific thing, for me the code does not exist.

If this could be helpful, flashlight dimming is not supported on OnePlus 8T KB2003 either.

LG V60 isn't supported either. Given this was LG's last flagship model before closing their mobile division entirely in 2020 (i.e. they're no longer making smartphones which is a shame), I doubt any LG device supports multiple light levels. Might be better to rule out the whole manufacturer unfortunately.

@SubhanRaj Your phone does not support dimming functionality. There's nothing I can do about this.

It seems your phone isn't even listed on Google Play Store as a device (so I can not manually exclude it from Google Play Store). Does your device have Google services by default or do you use any custom OS?

@cyb3rko

My Device is Oneplus Nord CE 3, running Oxcygen OS 14 based on Android 14, you can view more about my phone here as well as here, I don't know but when I copy details, it only copies the model number i.e CPH2569

@SubhanRaj As already mentioned. Your phone is not even officially listed by Google (https://storage.googleapis.com/play_public/supported_devices.html), so I can not exclude it from Google Play.

Furthermore the functionality does not work because of your phone / your Oxygen OS.

My phone does support dim feature. I can adjust the brightness level of the flash using an internal system tool (which is a hardware testing tool within MIUI called CIT). I test out using that tool and I can adjust the brightness of the flash.

My phone model is redmi K40s running Android 13.

Many thanks!

PS. I believe that all xiaomi and redmi phones that's released after this model was released have dimmable flashs.

Almost every single phone is reported as not supported.

It seems like Redmi did not implement the API to control the flashlight intensity yet

Im on lineage 20 currently and ik there is an issue with os but if phone rooted there is few lines for adjusting brightness.
/sys/class/leds/led:torch_0/brightness
/sys/class/leds/led:torch_3/brightness

(There are two flash LEDs)

The max value you can set is given by the max_brightness file in the same directory.

Also app already gives variety of levels but with strange way. If i tap on once it turns on 1 level but if i tap second time it turns 4 level
