Please note that this response was created using generative AI, leveraging previously available information from the repository. This information may be helpful. However, it is our strong recommendation that you carefully consider the information before blindly applying it. Currently, Docker Mail Server (DMS) does not provide a specific script or tool directly within its documentation for monitoring Postfix SMTP status and data in real-time, specifically for creating events from each email sent, delivered, or bounced. However, you can utilize general monitoring tools that are compatible with Postfix to achieve this functionality. For real-time monitoring and logging of Postfix activities, you might consider using tools like:
To set up event-driven monitoring, you might need to write custom scripts that tail the Postfix log files and trigger actions based on specific log entries. This could be done using shell scripting or more sophisticated programming languages like Python, combined with tools like For detailed guidance on setting up these tools with Postfix, you should refer to their respective documentation and integrate them as per your server configuration. Additionally, exploring the broader community forums or resources related to Postfix and Docker Mail Server might provide insights or shared solutions from other users with similar requirements. This sort of thing will be easier once we can add Vector into DMS. I've been working on contributing a feature upstream to Vector related to that for syslog, but I've not had much time for it lately. If that gets sorted out, you'd be able to configure Vector to transform logs into a variety of events and process them into metrics. The DMS community could share those via our docs for example. I wouldn't expect anything soon, but you may be able to leverage Vector in a similar way already on the |

I am looking if there is a script/tool to monitor the postfix smtp status and data in realtime. Looking for a way to create some kind of event from each email sent, delivered, bounces so it can be tracked when using dms as a relay server
