It seems there's an Arduino framework for the RP2040, so you don't have to start from scratch, but given the inconsistency of the Arduino API between implementations and number of quirks each one has, it'd probably be a fair amount of work. |

Hi guys, I know that is some months old post and I do not know that is still an interest but for you to know our wizcube concept not only have plans on using Raspberry Pico into the HA era but in fact we started building it. here: https://gitlab.com/m10cube/m10/-/tree/master/PROJECTS/HOME%20AUTOMATION If you have the knowledge and time to involve things will move faster. Having said that www.WIZcube.eu ecosystem have been build upon WIZnet's W5100S-EVB-Pico clone module. That is wired Ethernet on Raspberry Pico and the upcoming WiFi version WizFi360-EVB-Pico. Enjoy |

Hi,
is there any plan of support for RP2040 based boards? Ideally for "original" one: https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-pico/
I am in research of what to use for smarthome HW with all things wired. I know that esp is popular due to its wireless abilities. I would like to stick to wire if possible. RPi pico is seems nice due to high number of I/O and its flexibility. I have plan to connect it to "normal" Raspberry Pi using usb (serial line), or using gpio and some serial protocol. Would it be "easy" to make esphome run on RP2040 and to use some serial communication with home assistant server?
