Have you tried with a classic ESP32 board to compare? |

Today received some Atom Lite ESP32 (https://shop.m5stack.com/products/atom-lite-esp32-development-kit?ref=NabuCasa) Programmed them using (https://esphome.github.io/bluetooth-proxies/): This created the following code:
This gave the following in the log:
Still no sign in log of Bluetooth proxying and no better coverage :( Ideas? |

Please post the diagnostics from the esphome config entries on the integrations page in ha |

There was too much internal network information to post here I think, what parts are of interrest? |

Will try to move the proxy from 2m to 1m |

The sensor LD2410 works now 1m from the proxy (M5 Atom Lite 2-3) when moved, but ESPHome logs of the Atom does not show anything on this traffic, why? Another D2410 3 meters away does now show up, is the proxy reach this bad? |

I think there may be confusion with the M5Stack Atom, which is an earlier version of the ESP board, and the newer M5Staok AtomS3 versions, which use the ESP32-S3 chip. The Bluetooth Proxy web installer does not support the ESP32 S3 versions at this stage. As far as coverage, this is likely due to the small size of the device and not having an optimised antenna. This is not a fault of ESPHome or the Bluetooth Proxy, this is due to WiFi and Bluetooth time sharing the radio/antenna and the small size of the antenna in the Atom devices. The Atom's have their place, but if you need extended wiereless coverage (this includes both WiFi and Bluetooth) then they are not a good device to go for. They were designed to be small, and not to necessarily be efficient for WiFi/Bluetooth. The Atoms work welll for something like ESPPresence where they will get good WiFi connections, and just use BLE for presence detection within a few metres, but don't expect them to work well as a longer range Bluetooth proxy. |

Hi,
Just bought 2pcs of Atom S3 Lite, the idea was to use these to extend the Bluetooth coverage.
Programmed these with the code below (example from on one of them):
That went fine and they are added to HA without issues and are Online.
The log shows:
But no new Bluetooth devices are found near any of the proxies.
If I bring the Bluetooth devices closer to my Yellow (with Bluetooth support) the units are found immediatly.
Have I missed something obvious here?
Thanks,
Ase
