pip3 keeps installing old esphome 2022.9.4 version

So just a standard install from command line, using pip3.
Windows 11 plus latest Python, using command line
I can build and upload devices just fine, just does not want to upgrade past 2022.9.4

I think 2022.9.4 is the time I last upgraded (not working on this every day, not always thinking I need to be on bleeding edge)

So I cannot get it to update. pip just thinks this is the latest version.
Updated pip itself. Updated every other package in pip
Deleted pip cache. Both with the pip command and the actual windows folder.
Told it to not use cache.
Reinstalled Python. Uninstalled and reinstalled Python.
I am starting to think no-one bothered to update the pip indexes, but that is of course nonsense.

Why is it not updating past 2022.9.4 ???

Interesting, esptools and esphome-desktop are available in newer versions, and they do install nicely, but pip downgrades them whenever I (try to) upgrade esphome, because it thinks that is the requirement for esphome.

I just want to be able to use some newer keywords for my device.
Any suggestions or help please

Seriously? I uninstalled it, downloaded (what I thought was) the latest, and re-installed it.
Ok, I probably used a wrong installer. Will check again.

OK. Seems I did download the latest 3.11 and install it.
But I forgot to click the add python to environment variable option.

Restarted the installed, checked the environment variable, and now it all works, thanks.
