Hiya! .. i have the same issue - - ive been bouncing around the internet for two days - even involving chat gpt ! .. considering these components are designed to sandwhich perfectly together (which i thought would make them the perfect and fast way to make a simple text display) ive just hit against out of date libraries, conflicting pin addressers and and just general bad info .. im now at a satge where its just telling me the spi bus is busy !! :/ i cant change the pins cos its FIXED by the manufacturers ... honestly .. mind bending stuff .. ive tried arduino ide, micropython and now im on circuit python .. which id prefer to use actually as ive seen a demo of usiung an external sd card and the wifi of the pico which id like to be able to do .. but so far its as if the display is just for show purposes only :S .. dont suppose you ever had any luck ? ... here's my code for what its worth ..: import time Pin configuration for Raspberry Pi Picospi = busio.SPI(board.GP10, MOSI=board.GP11) Set up the displaycommand_pin = board.GP7 # Change this to the actual pin you want to use display_bus = displayio.FourWire( Set up the background bitmap and palette (black and white)background_bitmap = displayio.Bitmap(display.width, display.height, 2) background_tilegrid = displayio.TileGrid( Set up the text areafont = displayio.Font() # Use a built-in font for testing Set up the splash groupsplash = displayio.Group() Display the splash groupdisplay.show(splash) Refresh the displaywhile busy.value: Wait for a few secondstime.sleep(5) Refresh the display again after waitingdisplay.refresh() |

i made some progress - - you need to download the pico epaper demo codes from waveshare - youll get a bunch of files - navigate through and find ePaper2in13V4.py ... this worked for me . but try them all .. that at least sprung the screen to life .. now i am trying to strip it all back as i JUST wanna write some basic text .. nothing fancy .. but chatgpt is hopeless and just introduces more errors than its worth lol. |

I am trying to get the Waveshare 2.13 HAT e-paper running, however so far no luck - the display stays blank. The HAT is directly attached to the Pico.
Has this combination yet been reported as working? The specific SKU I am using is 19588 (Red, Black & White Text).
I am using this config:
Which is based on this table in the Wiki:
I also tried the different display models listet here.
The Log says this:
I noticed the display resolution is wrong.
Any advise how I cat get this running or debug further?
