After asking on reddit, u/DigitalUnlimited found the hidden Note: Don't use GPIO as grounds unless you don't have enough grounds to use. Switching the VCC line is enough. This is the final solution:

You don't need both power lines on a gpio. Just the VCC would be enough. And it's actually a bit dangerous if the GND gpio accidentally got turned on. |

So I want to create a light level sensor based on analog input.
I have the components and etc already, but the issue is that the power LED on the light sensor module is too annoying and wasting power. I only takes a reading every 10 seconds anyway.
So I have the following ideas:
Which brings me to this shitty idea: Loop to turn on the pins every 10s for 2s (8s off, 2s on), then schedule the reading every second, drop the values below 0.1v because thats when the sensors are powered off.
This is a sub-optimal solution. Any other better solutions exist?
Deep-sleep is not an option cuz i still have other things to read
