ESP32-S3-BOX3 freezing when using self signed SSL on HA

The problem

I have an esp32-s3-box3 device running as a voice assistant installed using the voice assistant project.

I noticed that after enabling SSL on my HA instance, using a self signed certificate, the device started to hang after any command.

After disabling the SSL the device went back to a normal functionality.

Is there any way to disable ssl check during the requests that the device do to HA, via yaml configuration file?
