Hi,

we have issues with the MySQL password storing scheme in gitbucket.
For now the system is still working but with future security updates this has to be fixed

[Warning] [MY-013360] [Server] Plugin mysql_native_password reported: ''mysql_native_password' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Please use caching_sha2_password instead'

This page still shows the deprecated way https://github.com/gitbucket/gitbucket/wiki/External-database-configuration

Before submitting an issue to GitBucket I have first:

Issue

Impacted version: xxxx

Deployment mode: explain here how you use GitBucket : standalone app, under webcontainer (which one), with an http frontend (nginx, httpd, ...)

Problem description:

  • be as explicit as you can
  • describe the problem and its symptoms
  • explain how to reproduce
  • attach whatever information that can help understanding the context (screen capture, log files)
