Use cmap depending on the environment

Is there a way to make cmap do different things depending on the situation?

For example:
cmap cmd-history-prev - when I'm typing a command
cmap search-back - when I'm using search
cmap cmd-history-next - when I'm using search
cmap search-next - when I'm typing a command
