Add view invoice button to payment email template #9509
Comments
Customers are wanting a direct way to view the invoice, from the email. They end up on that payment page and don't see the associated invoices down the bottom. It's also unclear that the invoice number itself is a hyperlink, so they get confused on how to view the invoice. I see the complication in what you are saying. Perhaps the improvement needs to occur on the client portal side? Maybe have buttons to view the invoice or some clearer way to indicate to the user which invoice this payment relates to and a clearer way to view that invoice. |
could you attach the PDF to the email? |
Does this attach the invoice to payment emails though? The reason I don't prefer to use attach PDF is I've seen some mail clients or services flag them as spam. Also sometimes the invoice may change such as having things added to it before a job is completed or other corrections and the attaching PDF option means they will have a copy of the old generated PDF. In contrast if they view the invoice from the client portal, it will always reflect the updated version. |
The invoice is generated each time, so the payment PDF will have the data at that point in time. |
As per this forum post:

It would be great to have separate variables for the view payment button and view invoice buttons.
