Many auto-captioners like to introduce periods within a description. While I can do a find and replace, it will always leave a trailing comma at the end of the caption which I prefer not to have.

Why does it leave a trailing comma? Can you show an example?

Find and Replace the commas.
Find: ,, or , , , or ,.
Replace: [nothing or Single space or Comma]

trailing commas usually mean there is an empty tag, clear empty tags and it should clear trailing commas
eraser is showing duplicate commas, which is different.
but I do agree, a "quick cleanup" button that combines deduping, deleting empty, removing duplicate punctuation, and removing trailing commas (commas followed only by whitespace or nothing at all) would be quite nice.

I think the Ctrl+D and Ctrl+E shortcuts are already convenient enough.

Duplicate/trailing commas are equivalent to empty tags, so they are handled when removing empty tags.
