analysis board: creating variations seems broken on latest master (Gitpod)

I’ve been trying to make a contribution to the analysis board through Gitpod. But it seems the analysis board is slightly broken for some reason. When I make a move on the board that would start a variation, the piece will quickly snap back into its original position, and the move that was played in the main line will be played instead. Likewise, when I click the moves on the local computer analysis lines, instead of creating a variation for them, it will just play the moves that happened in the main line.

It doesn’t happen on https://lichess.org proper, though, only on my Gitpod instance. Is this a bug on master, or is there something about Gitpod specifically? Can anyone reproduce this too? The commit I’m using is b831c36. I’d be happy to respond to more questions, and I can also create an issue for it if it is indeed a bug in master.

Hi, do you think your issue is similar to this: #12860? Also Can you reproduce the bug in latest master?

I don’t think it is similar to it, no. But it does seem to be resolved on latest master now!
