I'm still looking around for the translatable master keywords for the translation of lnbook on Transifex to French (Canada).
Names such as "Lightning Network" in French, resume to "réseau Lightning" (notice the minuscule 'r' in the word "réseau" for "network"). So I'm focusing on the style of such terms.
Having been born, working and studying as a trilinguist+ French Canadian, I use the national terminology used and shared in the OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie) (or IFO for "International Francophony Organization") through the oqlf.gouv.qc.ca website which defines the official lexicon and vocabulon used in Francophony.
OQLF stands for "Office québécois de la langue française", or the "Quebecois Office of French Language"--a state-financed agency
Most terms in Computer Science and Information Technology are defined in the OQLF tool, but some regarding Blockchain and newer technology have been added lately.
Just to mention my pain: "Lightning Network" (or "réseau Lightning") is not defined in the OQLF tool, so translating this book will push onto some French terms being spread and popularity adopted.
I translated Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum based on the vocabulon of the OQLF. All went mostly well.
Regarding Mastering the Lightning Network, it's another story...
The technology is quite eccentric to most common folks, so terms are not defined on the OQLF tool.
So to resume and conclude this post, terminology is quite important in any language, and choosing the right words defines or kills a book, and a reputation. I want the right words in French for this book.
I'm asking to make available the Transifex Project Glossary so words in the Project Glossary can be easily replaced within a machine translated block of text. I can't see the Project Glossary of Mastering the Lightning Network. Please activate it, or if I am mistaking, please explain why I can't see it.
Cheers!
