Horizontal maximization of video causes stop in advanced UI mode on mobile #30178

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Play video on mobile (so far it works)
  2. Maximize Video.
  3. Rotate the screen from vertical to horizontal (Most videos are taken horizontally still, so look very small unless you rotate the screen.)

Expected behaviour

Only Video rotates to horizontal, not the hidden UI in the background, and actually play after maximization

Actual behaviour

Video playback breaks down entirely, because the whole hidden Mastodon Web UI is also rotated to horizontal in the background

Alternatively, one could ignore the checkbox for advanced UI on mobile, because a multicolumn layout doesn't make much sense for tiny screens anyway.
