Summary

Client does not accept Server URL in URL format.

Environment Information

Device Name: any
OS Version: any
Mattermost App Version: latest
Mattermost Server Version: latest

Steps to reproduce

open client
disconnect from server if connected
client asks for server URL
enter full server URL, like https://example.com/company/mattermost

Expected behavior

Client is able to use server URL like https://example.com/company/mattermost

Observed behavior (that appears unintentional)

Client is unable to parse full server URL. It expects only the part after the protocol prefix, that is example.com/company/mattermost .

Users are confused and often fail to enter the expected input, and give up on Mattermost.

Note that the desktop client expects the full URL in the same situation.

Possible fixes

Client should accept both, full URL with, and simple URL without the protocol prefix.
