I'm not an English speaker, I don't speak English very well, please understand. I translated via GPT. Please tell me if there's anything weird. I'm interested in improving features and have a lot of experience with feedback. I believe we can have a productive dialog through an ongoing conversation. I'm not a developer, but I'm interested in open source and technology and platforms. |

Introduction
I am a marketer with a keen interest in no-code development and automation. I have a fondness for RSS feeds and enjoy actively consuming information. I used to like Twitter and enjoyed creating and playing with bots on the platform. However, Twitter became limited and less appealing after the acquisition by Elon Musk, especially with the introduction of paid APIs.
In this context, I came across Microfeed, and it astonished me as a game-changer. I believe in decentralization and distribution rather than being tied to specific platforms. I have realized the importance of this through my long internet activities. However, progress has been slow, and it's challenging for non-developers. It's too complicated. Even though I can understand and use it well, ultimately, it needs someone to use it to be meaningful. There must be users. It's meaningful when we do it together.
Proposal
Working Process: When I like an album or video on my Microfeed, indicated by 👍 or♥️ via RSS from the respective platform, it will automatically be posted to a specific Discord channel,
#likeamusic
, and will be elegantly displayed on my friends' personal Microfeeds.I categorize this into two sections:
A. Activity on Music Streaming Platforms
B. Activity on YouTube
In the past, I utilized a method of automatically tweeting from my Twitter account and then automatically pasting those tweets into Discord.
A: Regarding Activity on Music Streaming Platforms♥️ . It is displayed on the user's profile webpage. I use an RSS feed generator (Politepol) to create an RSS feed and save it to a Google spreadsheet using IFTTT or Zapier. I want to create a desired format on Microfeed and automate the title and content to be posted accordingly.
If there's music I like on specific music services or Korean music streaming platforms, I hit
1.1. I'm considering utilizing Spotify if it can fetch album art image URLs, album URLs, and artist URLs via an API.
B: Regarding Activity on YouTube
By using IFTTT, I can save YouTube likes, videos to watch later, and specific playlist items to a Google spreadsheet. I will post it in the desired way on Microfeed. It would be great if embedding is possible for YouTube posts.
I'll process this using HTML and CSS to make it visually appealing. I'll divide activities from music streaming platforms and within YouTube into menus to display them attractively (Theme).

I'll use a Discord RSS bot to automatically post to specific channels:
#likemusic
and#likevideo
.Thoughts and Questions
Q. Why re-upload images?
I want to re-upload images to Microfeed through Cloudflare. Here are my reasons:
In the past, I've used services to store bookmarks or web-surfing images. Eventually, they also shut down. I ponder what a better approach would be. Currently, I use Google Sheets, Airtable, Discord, and Telegram.
Q. Can't we create an RSS feed and post directly?
Yes, it's possible. I'm doing that now. It's fine for me to use alone. I have a good understanding and usage of automation services over a long period, but my friends and other users may not.
(When looking at a developer's personal page, it seems they store a collection of podcasts they like.)
Personal Page
People find posting tedious. Copying and pasting is laborious. Initially, they do it diligently, but they eventually stop due to fatigue. With APIs, such tasks can be made easier. I've been using automation services like IFTTT, Zapier, Integromat (Make), Tasker for a long time. I hope Microfeed supports this.
Additionally, there's no neatly organized personal page. When I used to automatically tweet on Twitter, the Twitter account could substitute for a profile page or personal webpage. Microfeed takes on that role.
I would like to have a well-organized personal page that compiles my favorite music and video content. It should not be tied to any service. That's the advantage of decentralized services or self-hosting. Even if I shut down my Microfeed, my friends, having self-hosted via Cloudflare, will still function. My friends need to put the Microfeed link on their Discord profiles.
