deviantart: download directly into target directory without creating additional folders or defaulting into base directory?

It seems, there's no configuration that allows me to download directly into the directory I specify on the command line. What happens, is either

1. I specify true for "parent-directory" and choose a keyword for the "directory", after which the images are downloaded into my_path\my_keyword

or

2. I don't specify the "directory" keyword, falling back to a default setting which apparently consists of several nested folders

or

3. I mess around with trying to assign "directory" the equivalent of an empty value, like [], [""], [{}], none of which work, so the downloads happen in the default base directory ./gallery-dl/

What's the solution?

Set an empty directory ([], "") and set base-directory to the path you want to download to. That's -o directory= and -d ... as command-line options.

And I wouldn't touch parent-directory for dA. That's primarily useful for Reddit.

Thanks, the empty square brackets worked for directory. Removed parent-directory from my conf file, too.
