After reboot, my 2 monitors both reset to some random brightness. Not sure if this is a bug or just not implemented feature. If you don't have time to fix this, can you recommend where to start looking?

  1. Do you have All Monitors mode enabled?
  2. Is the brightness resets to a different value each time after reboot or to one specific value?

The brightness is set by itself only when All Monitors mode is enabled, when the average value among all monitors is used.

Also, I have started rewriting phos to WinUI 3 and am unlikely to support the old version.

I do have All Monitors mode enabled.
I believed they get reset to 35. However the brightness on the 2 monitors seem different, as if the brightness limits are not applied.
It also happen when waking up from sleep, but in this case phos also become unresponsive and need to be restarted.

I understand if you don't want to spend time on this. I would appreciate some pointer to fix it myself. For example, what should I call to set the monitor brightness? Is the brightness persisted to disk? And if so where can I read it? Where is the on-boot/wake up initialization being done, if any?

Hi, I'd like to implement auto brightness using a Yocto-light sensor. I was planning to fork your project and later offer a PR, but you're talking about a rewrite of the code, could you tell me more about it please? (sorry it's not really the subject of the issue)
