Maybe try upgrade xterm's version.
"xterm": "^3.8.0", 3.8.0 was published at 6 Oct 2018, and this version was Pre-release.
This is another website katacoda based xterm, can support Unicode.

Open page containers, click Exec console, then open /containers/{container id}/exec

1. Can't input Unicode string, display "Display all 699 possibilities? (y or n)"
   

2. Can echo paste Unicode string, but after paste Unicode string then input will be strange.

This is issue is related to #5976

A fix for this was released in 2.20.0.

Also note that the changes included a tooltip explaining how you can copy/paste with the console.
