drag item create new root / parent

is there is an example of dragging an item from the toolbar for creating a new root (parent -1)?

There arent any examples I know as far as I am aware. The way I have solved this, is to have a static block on top which is the parent, and everything underneath (level 2) is kinda level 1. You can use a different node component for the superparent, which gives you some flexibility.
