getMarkdown and getHTML should just accept a doc, not the full state. It also does not anything else.

The reason is that when you want to listen to changes, e.g. in a effect you only need the doc. The selection does not really matter for the output. So you either have a to dependency list that does not match or you create a dummy state.

e.g.

const { getState } = useRemirrorContext();
const state = getState();

useEffect(() => {
   const markdown = getMarkdown(state);
}, [state.doc]);

or

const { getState } = useRemirrorContext();
const { doc } = getState();

useEffect(() => {
   const markdown = getMarkdown({ doc } as never);
}, [state.doc]);
