wants to install plug-in, finds none

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. had to reinstall Firefox, wanted to add IETab which has worked well before. 
After installing, clicking the icon on the bottom bar says it wants an 
additional plugin, both in the small top browser message bar just below the url 
section and in a message in the browser window. Clicking on the "install 
plugin" message shows it is looking at chrome://ietab/conetne/ietab/xul but 
nothing happens and it does not load the page
2. It has worked well before!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?


What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
4.0.20130422 it tab, Firefox 20.0.1, XPw/SP3
