What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. For example, observe that "http://www.windowsupdate.com/*" is a default site
filter to open in IE.
2. Go to that (or another configured) URL directly within Firefox, and observe
that Firefox successfully opens the URL using IE as the engine.
3. Try opening the same URL using Start/Run, or clicking on a link from
Outlook, for example, and observe that Firefox does not successfully open the
URL. The tab only shows as "Connecting...", the page remains blank, and the
ietab icon still shows as "Firefox"
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Links should open the same in Firefox whether they are opened directly in
Firefox, or from an external application.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
4.0.20130422, Windows 7.
Please provide any additional information below.
The same functionality works as expected when using "IE Tab 2 (FF 3.6+)
4.12.22.2" instead.

Same issue here on Windows 7, workaround is to select address bar (sadly not
possible with Ctrl+L so I need to use the mouse which is ineffective) and press
enter. Then the site shows up. "IE tab 2" doesn't have this problem but for me
it crashes on SharePoint sites (which is the only thing i open in IETab) so I
stick with ietab as I can live with the workaround (that's better when compared
to a crash). However a fix would be highly appreciated.

Sorry for the SPAM. Can't edit my previous comment? For the developer it might
be helpful to know that the page is loaded when it is the first one to open
FireFox. If FF is already open and the page is expected to show up in a new tab
the problem occurs.
