Open Navigation LLC's mission is to accelerate robotics commercialization and applied research via the democratization of professional quality mobile robotics technologies and resources. We aim to establish open, community-driven collaborations within and between industry and academia to develop these industry standardized references.

Based in San Francisco, CA, we maintain and develop key pieces of the Robotics Open Source ecosystem, including Nav2, SLAM Toolbox, and components of ROS. We have almost 10 years of experience developing production-grade openly software to power the industry.

We use sponsorship to fund:

  • Maintenance of existing capabilities including bug fixes, responding to user tickets, and improving quality and capabilities
  • Developing new technologies to solve industry-wide problems to make robots better, faster, and stronger using modern systems
  • Perform community building, technical communication, documentation, and other value-add work for the industry
