First, thank you for the free minimalistic PDF reader. I am a big fan.

I have a suggestion, if it's possible please add it. I like the paper texture option of an Android app called 'librera'. It adds dynamics to the PDF books that I read. It might be hard to believe but I installed Fedora (Linux) and an android emulator (waydroid ) just to use this one app on my tablet PC. Invested my one week in learning about it. Which didn't work out, because my tablet PC has a low configuration.

It would be really helpful if it's possible to add this option. Thank you again!

Whilst that app is built on Android MuPDF NOT the same MuPDF version as in SumatraPDF

I foresee many problems with such an approach, as it could only work for the minority of PDF, and not all ePub files.
see the many open issues https://github.com/search?q=repo%3Afoobnix%2FLibreraReader+background&type=issues especially current foobnix/LibreraReader#1035

I think they solved it somehow because I never found such an issue. I've been using Librera 8.9.126 fdroid for almost 3 months now and read 12 books. Never seen the problems that you mentioned. All are in pdf format.
.
I am no expert in coding, so maybe I won't understand the trouble one has to get through, building a program. But I know trouble can occur. But if it's possible, please give it a thought. I will still be a huge fan ☺️
Thank you.

Clearly I am looking at a different online copy in a web address in SumatraPDF and same address in a web enhancer in FireFox (same remote based Dell file) at exactly same point in time.

so first thing I note is the enhancer has problems when adding a yellowish background colour it seems to negate the corresponding opposing blues ! Botom right the text "disapears" (overlay ?) Main title the blue is tainted.

So oddly some colours work others do not ! Luckily in that example not much was lost by colour manipulation.

Is there any way to paste a paper texture underneath or overlay/multiply it on the page?? And reduce opacity?
It has 3 paper textures and I can add other textures manually with the plus button.
.
Default transparency is 200. But when I lower the number the page gets more visible.
Please check the screenshots.
Thank you

If they are using Transparency it is only going to work with some files UNLESS they are converting PDF pages into PNG images.

Acrobat and SumatraPDF can change one background canvas colour any colour as long as its not black works well.
Acrobat has enhancements that allow for a transparent checkered background, but AFAIK it is clear or solid, depending on source.

Same File online in Edge with Acrobat and SumatraPDF set to a creamy backdrop, NOTE again there is a colour issue with Acrobat as it insists that the text colour be changed when the background is altered, these are all common problems with PDF there is NO way to mess with colours across the board that works in all cases some work well with some files but many work abysmally with many files.
