Make invert color function exclude images for epub

I don't know if this is a duplicate issue or already has a solution that I don't know about. I want to read my epub books in dark mode but the invert color hotkey ( i ) not only makes light colors dark and dark colors light in the body text, but applies that to images too. I have to invert colors quickly to see the details of a picture and invert back after it. Please consider this simple detection possible for the program to know what areas need to be untouched. This functionality is already present in Moon+ Reader for android.

It's not possible for PDF. For epub mupdf has an option to provide custom CSS, which might work (by providing custom text and background CSS color).
