[Documentation Feedback]: The graphs for filter restrictiveness are confusing #1218

User feedback

  • In the weaviate docs, under the concepts, filtering with search webpage, Flat-Search Cutoff section
  • I think the 2 graphs have conflicting labels for the x-axis
  • The first image has the xlabel as the percentage of the dataset included after applying the filter
    image
  • The second image has the xlabel as the percentage of filter restrictiveness
    image
  • To my understanding, the more restrictive a filter is, the less data we end up with. So, that's why I'm saying that the 2 xlabels are conflicting.
  • Another point is, the docs mention the restrictiveness going from 0% to 100% from left to right, but the graphs show the percentage of returned data after filtering. So, I think it would be better to just stick with one percentage (either go for restrictiveness or for proportion of data) to avoid confusion.
