Bug Description

I follow the steps from the first method of Toolbar Color Tool Customization, and didn't work, but I don't know why. Instead of changing the colors, the shortcuts icons just disappeared.

Expected Behaviour

I want it to color change the toolbar shortcuts.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. I followed View > Toolbars > Manage and create a new toolbar configuration.

image

  1. Using a text editor, opened the toolbar.ini and looked the configuration I create. Here, I couldn't find it anywere.

image

  1. Then I came up with the idea of just copy/paste the xournal++ config and rename it to "Xournal++ 2", and did the final steps: "Find the COLOR(0x??????)" and "Replace these hexadecimal numbers with your desired colors"

image

  1. Then I opened the Xournalapp and that's what happened :(

Please somebody help-me 😭 😭 🙏

I followed View > Toolbars > Manage and create a new toolbar configuration.

The automatically created toolbar configuration file is located at C:\Users\<usename>\AppData\Local\xournalpp\toolbar.ini, in this file, you will see the following description:

# Color: COLOR(0),COLOR(1),COLOR(2),COLOR(3),COLOR(4),COLOR(5),COLOR(6),COLOR(7),COLOR(8),COLOR(9),COLOR(10),COLOR_SELECT
# Notice: The colors reference the respective color in the palette.gpl file.
# For backwards compatibility the hex representation, e.g. COLOR(0xff8000), is still permitted. However, the hex value
# will be IGNORED in favour of the "next" palette color. They will be automatically migrated when the user customizes
# the respective toolbar configuration.

Therefore, COLOR(0xff8000) will be ignored, and you should define RGB colors in palette.gpl and use COLOR(2) in toolbar.ini to add a button for the third color.
