Background

Due to the current incompatibility of Python 3.8 and 3.9 with the macOS 14 runner images on a new architecture, our CI has temporarily reverted to macOS 12. This issue is intended to track the progress and plan the reversion to the latest macOS runner once compatibility issues with Python versions are resolved.

Task

Acceptance Criteria

  • Ensure that Python 3.8 and 3.9 run successfully on macOS 14 runner images without issues.
  • Update the CI configuration files to use macos-latest ensuring all workflows run as expected.

Resources

Please update this issue with any progress or relevant information regarding the macOS runner updates and Python compatibility checks.
