Quark adds a feature to preview maps when the Player is hovering mouse over map items in inventory. This also adds previews in chat, where you can just select an item to share in the chat. On SMP servers, this enables simple trading of some special items. We believe it would be a huge thing if paintings could be easily shared in chat for showcase in trading.
