If a user has tv series special episodes that follow under the season 0 (like TVDB usually tags them) but TMDB and trakt have them set up as separate TV movies, scrobbling will fail.

South Park 0x45 - South Park The Streaming Wars.mkvIf special episode is not found, try as a movie if it has imdb id. Trakt will be sent a scrobble event with a movie object with the imdb id from the special episode metadata. If there is no imdb id present scrobble will not be sent.
More commits to follow for manually marking as watched, etc.
